I took my cat outside last night after work and within 30 seconds she had caught a mouse! It was under a bush and she pounced on it and picked it up by the mouse’s midsection. Then she wanted to take it in the house, but of course, I couldn’t let her do that. She seemed very confused. The mouse was squeaking. She finally released it and the mouse ran into a corner. They sized each other up for several seconds and then the mouse darted back to the bush. The cat about knocked me off my feet pulling her leash to the bush. It did cross my mind that the mouse might have rabies or some other disease, but what can I say? We’re living dangerously these days!
