Nothing slows down all the time on my back meditating and engaging in self-hypnosis like an impromptu trip home by my daughter! And on Mother’s Day weekend!
She called and asked if it was ok to come home until Tuesday so she could study with fewer distractions for her finals starting Wednesday.
When does a kid ask if it’s ok if they could come home?
I said of course, and we have had a WONDERFUL weekend together. She has dinosaur danced all over the kitchen and sung in the shower — both endearing activities that I missed so much while she has been away taking names during her freshman year at college.
I even have a video of the dinosaur dance on my phone that I play when missing her gets unbearable. It’s just silly and care free and uninhibited — qualities I thought she would leave behind during her parents’ divorce.
My heart is bursting with relief that she has not.
